Unable to log into email server.

Our servers are all using the latest operating software with sophisticated scanning for spam and virus laden email. Generally you should have no trouble logging in to retrieve your email but sometimes there may be issues.

The most common problem is when users are attempting to setup a new computer. Often they unsuccessfully attempt to log in multiple times and the server will lock out the IP address they are connected with. A sure fire way to find out if this is the case is to try to open the server web page. If it will not open then you are most likely locked out.

Lockouts are temporary but may be in force for several hours. One way to regain access if you do not have a fixed IP address is to restart your modem. If you have forgotten your password though it makes no sense to keep trying. You should check all settings before you proceed further.

Sending via your server.
Please only use this option if you need to. It will create more server load and slow your email sending.

The only other concern is that you may be told by your email program that your server uses a self signed certificate.  This is safe to accept. If you wish to have a SSL certificate, then we can arrange this for you and have it installed on your server. Please enquire about the cost if you feel you need this.
