Solar electricity generation is now available to any person who owns their own property connected to the electricity grid. Called grid connect, the output of energy from soalar panels is fed into the electricity system to be used by other subscribers. The system owner is paid for the electricity “exported” to the grid.

Grid Connect Inverters

The only condition is that the property owner can only be paid for any power they send out after their use is deducted. In our case this amounts to around $80 in the part of the year where solar output is at its lowest. So, the system has produced all the power we have used and sent $80 worth of surplus green electricity to the grid for other consumers to use.

If you would like to know more about this system, you can contact me and I will give you some numbers to contact for more information.

People in our area are reporting a scam that preys on computer users to steal banking information and persoanal details.

You may get a pjone call claiming that your computer has sent an error report to Microsoft and they will help you to fix the problem. What follows is a complex scam that might eventually result in loss of personal information, a computer infected with remote control programs and monies taken from your credit card or bank account.

Please just politely say you don’t have a computer, or you have been on holiday and not used the computer for over a month and they must have called the wrong number by mistake and hang up. If you are concerned about your computer securty you should call your regular computer support person.

Due to the fact these scammers operate from outside of our country, there is little can be done to trace and prosecute them. There is little to be gained by even reporting the incident to authorities except where they claim to represent a real business where your report to the real company may be appreciated.

This ABC web link has an audio explanation that some people might find enlightening.

Last weekend Pam and I attended a most enjoyable weekend with the club on a campover at Stony Creek.

It was jam packed with lots of fun and music. I decided not to go for a swim but the creek was flowing and very beatiful. If you are interested you can head over to the club site and look for a link to the story and pictures. www.coowongafolkclub.com

I’ll just take this opportunity to remind everyone of the 2nd Bobfest on 15th May. More info on the club site.
